"Our" Windmill

The windmill (molen) is one of the most common symbols of The Netherlands. We are lucky enough to look out on the Windlust windmill from our front windows.
Still operating as a flour mill, this version dates to the late 1600's, though there is evidence that mills have been located here since the 1400's. As you can see, it's particularly scenic on a nice day.

You dont know me. I came across your blog while looking for pics of Wassenaar. I too lived in Wassenaar for a time 10 years ago and attended the American school of the Hague. This picture of the windmill is not only beautiful but it brings back so many of my "childhood Memories" Not that it was that long a go. But Anyway thank you for posting this. I lived only a block or so away and it was fun to see.
