This is a beautiful bird. I think it must be a young one. And, I often wish I could pick up our hawks but think I would get my hand ruined from their sharp talons. They truly are magnificent. We have this hawk here too and one called Red Shouldered and they all look similar.

Is he attached to something with the black clip on his left leg? and isn't he far from home? Nice shot.
