To the Sea

It's been pretty dull and gray here for most of the week, so here's one from the archive. Every once in a while you can get an idea of what the dutch landscape (waterscape?) might have looked like in an earlier century, like in this view from the Muiderslot castle, located just outside of Amsterdam.
The blurriness (is that a word?) of the above (unaltered) photo seemed slightly reminiscent of a painting, so below is a "fun with photoshop" moment.

I am really curious of the ship's masts leaning to the right. Do you know why? Looks like it's not only the masts but the whole ship.

Were they cleaning the ship's hull at the waterline on the port side?

How often would such a beautiful tall rigger like this one visit Wassenaar?

A nice photograph of a glory now almost gone. I like the photo at the top and the other is OK too.

Try the Plastic Wrap filter once. It works beautifully sometimes.

If you have not seen a big ant then it might be worth seeing my post this morning.

Thanks for the comments and AL's tip. Nathalie, I'm not sure why the ship is tilting ... it is the whole ship. That was as close as we could get but I'm not aware of any work being done while we were there. It appeared that it was just the way the ship was moored.
