Wassenaar nature

A peaceful scene from the nature area that separates the town of Wassenaar from the dunes and the north sea. We were quite surprised the first time we saw Canada Geese here ... they were so common (sometimes considered a pest) in the states and we didn't know their range extended to Europe. There seem to be more variety in geese here and the Canada Geese are not nearly as populous as in the states.

Very peaceful and I love the atomosphere. I sometimes see such geese in the moat of Imperial Residence in Tokyo. They look swimming very peacefully in Tokyo too.

Ahhh, yes very peaceful. Enjoying looking thru your site. Thanx R&R for responding at my photoblog - StPeteDailyPhoto. You are right about that yellow-crowned night heron, but u probably already knew that. Since the black-crowned is rare maybe u can send me a pic sometime. I'm really enjoying getting to know Florida's fabulous waterbirds. Do you ever miss Chicago?
