Flower Parade

Aalsmeer is located just outside of Amsterdam and is home to the largest flower auction in the world. The Bloemencorso Aalsmeer (Flower Parade) celebrates the industry and we watched as it weaved its way from Aalsmeer to Amsterdam. Inbetween the floats were autos decorated with so many flowers it often looked as if the car would tip over. Watch for more bloemencorso pics throughout the week.

Very interesting! Were they able to drive with that big thing on there? It looks like it would drag on the ground. Love the flowers and colors.

A.L., yes, it is like the Rose Parade, in spirit if not size!

JoAnn, we did like the uitmarkt, next year we'll try to go to some of the other cities. And we'll definitely have more from Den Haag coming up.

NorthBay and Chicago: thanks!

Detroit: there were more decorated cars in the parade, it was amazing that some of them could drive!

Dick, we did see in the program that it was referred to as the "last" but we don't know why.
