Great Grebes

Don't know what it is about grebes, but we really like them. Might be something about the spiked crest or their angularity. Or the RSPB listing says it well: "a delightfully graceful water bird."

Regardless, they are very shy and it's difficult to get a good shot of them. This one, taken near the Wassenaar marina, suffers from a bit of blurriness, probably from not focusing correctly. I'll keep trying.

Have a great weekend, see you Monday.

Grebs are nice. Something I have seldom see here or around here. I saw a small yellow bird the other day and photographed it but now I am not able to identify it. It is a beautiful bird that I thought was a gold finch but it isn't. I went through four bird books and didn't see it in any of them so will have to put it on my bird blog soon and see if anybody can tell me what it is.

Nice photo today.

Hi R7R ,
I thought this were ducks, but grebs...OK They are a bit blurry yeh, I had the same...have used the CS3, and deleted it again from my PC, why? Because clear shots became blurry by CS3, not for me thanks.

Have a good weekend :)
