OK, so not all the pics are from Wassenaar. We just can't keep still!
Nonetheless, we hope you enjoy our photos from the area and around The Netherlands.

Alternative Transportation Methods
In which would you rather tour Amsterdam ... a horse-drawn carriage or a bakfiets?
Although that carrage is lovely nad the horse quite handsome, I want that bike. That is every mom's dream. I've not seen anything like it before except pedal cabs, and even those look way different. This is a great, great photo! -Kim Seattle Daily Photo
How much more normal life is across the pond in many aspects, you know... I'm thinking that here, if a mother took her kids for a ride in a bakfiet, she'd probably be fined for "endangering her kids" (you know the "no helmets! no seatbelt! no child seats! OMG how could you be SO irresponsible!" crap.)
Actually, we are seeing more and more of these bikes in the USA. Portland Oregon has a fantastic store called Clever Cycles that has been open since June 2007. They sell the Bakfiets.nl, Opa fietsen, Oma fietsen, Brompton folding bikes and many others.
Here is a picture of my family on 'our' Bakfiets.nl from Amsterdam.
heeeeeh Rich, Good that you took this photo, ( I forgot doing that, thats why...) this Horse-car starts at "the Dam" we found that out too, but did.nt go by this "Horse-taxi" Amsterdam is such a fun!
A group of enthusiastic photographers that meet in The Hague. English-language meetings for the international community. Check out the website, especially the galleries page!

The horse drawn carriage.
Really nice photo.
I have been thinking on doing something with a bakfiets for quite a while. You beat me!
..since I am too big for the bike basket, I prefer the horsedrawn carriage:-))
Greetings from Canada.
I bet a carriage ride would be neat. No beans for the horse though.
What a fantastic photo that is!
